Radio Galaxy Zoo: EMU
What does it do?
Hunt supermassive black holes, star-forming galaxies, and discover the unknown!
Does it differs Radio Galaxy Zoo?
Radio Galaxy Zoo EMU is a direct offshoot of Radio Galaxy Zoo. In this new project, we replace the previous FIRST/ATLAS radio survey data with cutting edge science data from the ASKAP Evolutionary Map of the Universe Pilot Survey (EMU PS), and introduce high resolution optical images from Dark Energy Survey (DES).
Besides the changes above, we also add zoomed-in & zoomed-out image versions to help citizen scientists who want to hunt rare radio galaxies i.e. Giant Radio Galaxies (GRG), X-shaped radio sources, C-shaped radio sources, etc. According to our estimates, with the various versions we provide, over 90% of GRG in our sample should be found with no need to enlarge field further.

Outreach/Education possibility?
Radio Galaxy Zoo EMU is endorsed by the IAU Office of Astronomy for Development (IAU OAD), and welcomes collaboration in education, outreach and scientific research.
